Ava Borrasso C.Arb is an arbitrator and attorney focused on international commercial disputes. She has over 30 years of commercial litigation practice and has practiced international and commercial arbitration since 2006. She sits as arbitrator - emergency, chair, sole and panel - in a wide range of international and domestic commercial disputes.
Ava is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). In addition to her appointment to CAfA in 2022, she is a panel member of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), CIArb’s Presidential Panel of Arbitrators, the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre (BVI-IAC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Commercial Panel and Panel for Large, Complex Cases, and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) listed.
She has authored multiple articles concerning arbitration with publications appearing in Kluwer Arbitration Blog, Young Arbitration Review, International Bar Association (IBA), American Bar Association (ABA) Dispute Resolution Magazine, Law360, Lexology and International Law Quarterly (Fla.). She is a frequent speaker on topics involving arbitration and has addressed Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, CAM-CCBC Arbitration Congress, YAR 2.0 Conference, AAA/ICDR Roundtables, Federal Bar Association, iLaw Global Forum/ICDR Arbitration Track, and several ABA Sections. In addition, she has guest lectured on arbitration at University of Florida Levin School of Law and FIU Law School and has served as moot arbitrator at the annual Richard de Witt Memorial Vis International Arbitration Pre-Moot.
Ava is a member of the Executive Committee (Vice Chair Membership) and Board of Directors of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, North America Branch and sits on the Editorial Board of the ABA’s Dispute Resolution Magazine. Her work in arbitration has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal, Legal500 Latin America, Best Lawyers in America, and U.S. News & World Report Best Law Firms.
