Dirk is an attorney and arbitrator focused on corporate and commercial law.
Dirk's law practice has included arbitration since 1995. He has served as Arbitrator in a wide range of commercial disputes at both the domestic and international level. He is a board member of the Dutch Arbitration Association, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute, member of the ICC Committee in the Netherlands and a deputy judge in the Court of Appeal in 's-Hertogenbosch. He regularly sits as an arbitrator, both party-appointed and as chairman.
He was appointed to the Arbitration pool of CAfA in January 2020.
Dirk Knottenbelt's educational background include a law degree of the University of Leiden (1991). He is fluent in Dutch and English and has some working knowledge of German.
