Ganna Prokhorova

Ganna Prokhorova is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator focused on art law, intellectual property and particularly copyright, trademarks and design. She has developed a substantial practice in art law and cultural heritage, representing famous artists, art dealers, art institutions and collectors for the protection, circulation, management and valuation of artworks and collections.

With nearly sixteen years' experience, she handled a number of copyright and related rights cases and advised clients on a wide range of art-related legal and business issues. Ganna is a frequent speaker on art-law and related topics at several business law schools and master’s degree courses, as well as those dedicated to the development of the Ukrainian art market (International Art Management for Professionals at the Institute of International Relations, Higher School of Advocacy at the Ukrainian National Bar Association, Legal High School, Art People Space, Art Law for Creative Industries etc.). She has participated as a judge at IP Moot Court of the Ukrainian Bar Association and has conducted training courses at the Art Business Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine. She is a well-known contributor to the Artkursyv Magazine about modern culture (Kyiv, Ukraine) and published a number of articles on different art law topics. Ganna is recommended in intellectual property by Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Managing Intellectual Property rankings, "The Ukrainian Law Firms. A Handbook for Foreign Clients".

Mrs. Prokhorova is an arbitrator in UA-DRP domain name disputes at WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center (Geneva, Switzerland) and URS at MFSD (Milan, Italy).

She is a founder of Art Law Boutique (2018) with a special focus on art law, copyright, protection of rights of painters, galleries and museums in cooperation with the Portal of Independent Artists who promote known and young artists in Ukraine and abroad.

Mrs. Prokhorova has been selected as an arbitrator for the CAfA Arbitration Pool in January 2020.

Mrs. Prokhorova’s educational background includes: Commercial Law (J.D., Kyiv National Economic University); Intellectual Property (LL.M., Kyiv Intellectual Property Institute of National University “Odesa Academy of Law”), WIPO Worldwide Academy. She is fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
