Lucy Martinez is an attorney and arbitrator focused on art law, copyright, entertainment, commercial, and international law. She has extensive experience sitting as sole, co-, or presiding arbitrator in ACICA, HKIAC, ICC, LCIA, and SIAC arbitrations, governed by the laws of Australia, England, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States. She also teaches International Arbitration at University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Ms. Martinez is a frequent conference speaker and has published extensively on issues related to international arbitration.

Lucy’s law practice has included arbitration since 2003. She has served as arbitrator or counsel in a wide range of international commercial and investment disputes. She is a member of the panels/lists of arbitrators for a number of institutions, including ACICA (Australia), ADGMAC (Abu Dhabi), BVI (British Virgin Islands), HKIAC (Hong Kong), KCAB (Korea), MIAC (Maldives), SHAC (Shanghai), and SIAC (Singapore), and is a member of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Register of Bargaining Code Arbitrators. She has participated as faculty and judge at law school- and Bar Association- sponsored arbitration-related events. She was appointed to the Arbitrator Pool of CAfA in November 2022.
Lucy is admitted as an attorney in New York, and is an Australian national. She has lived and practiced in New York, USA; London, UK; and Australia.

Lucy’s educational background includes: University of Queensland, Australia, (BA/LLB; First Class Hons., University Medal, Valedictorian); and Columbia Law School (LL.M.).
