Luigi, is an attorney, admitted before the Italian higher courts, arbitrator and mediator, focused on international arbitration and litigation, insurance, commercial and art law. He is an equity partner of Ughi e Nunziante Studio Legale, Teaching Assistant of Comparative Law at University of Rome, teaching post-graduate courses on International Arbitration, Comparative Commercial Law, Private International Law and Ethics. He is the author of several publication on civil law, comparative law and international arbitration. Luigi is a frequent speaker and has published extensively on issues related to international disputes and business.
Luigi’s law practice has included arbitration and mediation since 2004. He has served as Counsel and Arbitrator in a wide range of disputes at both the domestic and international level (ICC, CAM, ICSID, WIPO, Ad Hoc) and assisted public entities and famous artists (or their heirs) in art law disputes, including cases of forgery, international cultural goods restitution, estates of artists and art foundations. He is an active member of the Associazione Italiana per l’Arbitrato, Comité Français de l’Arbitrage, Club Español de Arbitraje, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Association Suisse de Arbitrage. He has participated as faculty and judge at law school- and Milan Chamber of Commerce - sponsored VIS-moot Arbitration events. He was appointed to the original Arbitration and Mediation pools of CAfA in January 2020.
Luigi’s educational background includes: Université de Strasbourg (Undergraduate Certificate, 2001), University of Rome (J.D., 2003); University of Aix-en-Provence (LL.M., 2004); University of Rome (PhD, 2010); Queen Mary University of London (PG-Diploma in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration, 2014). He is fluent in Italian, English and French and has a working knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese.
