Manu Sanan is a lawyer with substantial experience at law offices in New Delhi, New York and London. He has acted for private clients and sovereigns in contentious matters involving commercial laws, IP laws, cross-border taxation, and international law. Those disputes have been before various fora including commercial courts as well as arbitral tribunals constituted under the ICC, SIAC, HKIAC and UNCITRAL rules.
Manu has additional experience in matters concerning customs laws (including the ATA Carnet system for temporary import for exhibitions) and white collar. Manu’s practice has involved arbitration and/or mediation since 2011 and he has spoken and published on various aspects of his practice including as editor of a leading journal on trade law.
Manu serves on the arbitrator panel of various arbitral institutions and is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Manu has read law in both common and civil law jurisdictions and holds a LL.B. (International Trade and Investment) (Jodhpur), a LL.M. (International Dispute Settlement) (Geneva), and an MPhil (International Law) (Oxford). Manu presently practices in New Delhi, with qualifications in India and England and Wales.
