Melih (Mel) Dogan

Mel has over forty years of business arbitration and litigation experience in U.S. federal and state courts, as well as international forums. He has represented numerous artists and collectors in contractual disputes with galleries. Moreover, Mel has negotiated and provided representation for gallery-artist contracts, art shipment and storage issues, art taxation and estate matters, art related labor claims and Art Fair agreements.

Mel also co-founded together with investors an art gallery in Chelsea, New York City called “C24”. For the past nine years, the gallery has showcased an international coterie of painters, sculptors, installation and video artists. To date, the gallery has participated in over 25 art fairs in the U.S. and globally. In addition, the gallery has hosted over 35 artist exhibitions since its inception. He was appointed to the Arbitration pool of CAfA in January 2020.

His educational background includes: Columbia Law School (J.D.1978); Columbia College,B.A.1975); N.Y.U. Masters in Taxation Program (attended courses studying international taxation 1980). Mel speaks English, Turkish, and has working knowledge of Spanish.
