Founding Partner, NBK Law Office
Nadia is an Attorney at Law with the Paris Bar Association and a European Attorney at Law with the Cyprus Bar Association. She is currently based in Cyprus and is the founding partner of NBK Law Office in Nicosia. She holds a doctorate degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of Montpellier I in France and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London. She has over fifteen years of extensive experience in art collection and charitable foundation management, including extensive involvement with museums, private and public foundations, auction houses, art dealers and experts. Since 2007, Nadia has been a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Patti and Everett. B. Birch Foundation (New York, USA), for which she has been principally responsible for the management and disposition of the Foundation’s significant assets in Europe and North Africa. Among other responsibilities, Nadia’s work has addressed issues of authenticity, appraisal of art work, selling of art work, museum exhibitions, insurance, export/import rights and duties, chain of title, intellectual property and copyright as well as many other disciplines within the art domain. In August 2019, she was appointed to the original Arbitration and Mediation pools of CAFA.
She has vast cross-cultural fluency with heritage, government and private entities. A resident of Cyprus, she travels regularly to the U.S., Morocco, and France to oversee collaborative efforts within the art and business communities. Additionally, she specializes in competition law, international distribution contracts, commercial contracting matters, international arbitration and international business law, with a focus on Europe and North Africa.
Nadia’ received her B.A (1996) degree from University Hassan II (Morocco) and M.A. (1997) and Ph.D. (2007) degrees from the University of Montpellier I (France). Nadia is fluent in French, English and Arabic.
