Sameer has 25 years of active legal practice and focused on art law, copyright, entertainment and commercial law amongst other practice areas. He is a Senior Partner of Trust Legal, the 37th ranked Law firm in India and also founder of S. U. SHAH & ASSOCIATES, a full service law firm in India undertaking both litigations and transactional assignment for both Indian and foreign private client or Corporates.
Sameer’s law practice has included arbitration and mediation since 2000. He has served as Counsel, Adviser, Arbitrator and Mediator in a wide range of art law and commercial disputes. He is a Director-Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London) - CIArb-India Branch. He is also Chairman – International Disputes Resolution and Risk Management Institute (Hong Kong)-IDRRMI - India Branch and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer – Academy of International Dispute Resolution and Professional Negotiation (AIDRPN), Hong Kong. He is empanelled as a Mediator with – Mainland-Hong Kong Joint Mediation Center, Hong Kong & The Mediation Center, Dubai. He is also the Head – India – Shanghai Chu Tun Consulting Co. Ltd.– Shanghai, China & a Director – Hong Kong Zhiqing Trading Co. Ltd, Hong Kong. He was appointed to the original Arbitration pool of CAfA in January 2020.
Sammeer is regularly been invited as one of the Panel Arbitrator Judge by the Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition held at Hong Kong for at least the 9 last years. He is also acting as Coach/Tutor for various teams participating in the Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition held at Hong Kong, the last being the team from National Law University, Bhopal, India which reached the semi-finals. He is also regularly conducting training courses as Tutor for CIArb-India at Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai for training professionals as Arbitrators. Also conducting awareness and training course specially modelled for Law Students of various Law Schools in India. Sammeer is regularly been invited to attend various National and International Conferences on ADR including Arbitration and Mediation.
