Associate, Uría Menéndez
Sebastián is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator focused on cultural heritage law and public international law. He is a member of the International Arbitration team at Uría Menéndez (Madrid office) since 2018 and Faculty member at the University of Buenos Aires, teaching courses on public international law (currently on leave) since 2012. He is also a member of the International Law Association Committee on Participation in Global Cultural Heritage Governance. He is a frequent speaker and has published extensively on issues related to cultural heritage law, public international law and arbitration.
Sebastián’s law practice has included arbitration and mediation since 2013. He has served as a legal adviser on international investment disputes at the International Affairs and Disputes Department of the Treasury Attorney-General's Office of the Argentine Republic and, after that, served as an assistant to the Hon. Charles Brower. He was appointed to the Arbitration pool of CAfA in January 2020.
Sebastián´s educational background includes: Law Degree (J.D. equivalent, 2011) and M.A. in International Affairs (University of Buenos Aires, School of Law); LL.M. in International and Comparative Law -with highest honors- (The George Washington University, School of Law). He is a fluent Spanish and English speaker.
