Steven P. Gregory

Founder, Gregory Law Firm, P.C

Steven is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator focused on alternative dispute resolution, collaborative law, consumer law, securities law and litigation, complex litigation, and commercial law. He is the author of the novel Cold Winter Rain. He is a frequent presenter on alternative dispute resolution topics to fellow members of the bar.

Steven's law practice has included arbitration and mediation since 1995. He has served as arbitrator and mediator in a wide range of securities, consumer, employment, and commercial disputes. He is a member of the roster of mediators and arbitrators for the Financial Regulatory Authority (formerly, the National Association of Securities Dealers), as well as the Commercial and Consumer Panels for the American Arbitration Association. He has been appointed to over one hundred arbitration panels, serving as chair in approximately half of those. He has participated as faculty and judge at law school- sponsored law student mediation competitions and has conducted training in the form of webinars for the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution. He has also served as a court-appointed appellate mediator for the Alabama Supreme Court. He was appointed to the Arbitration and Mediation pools of CAfA in January 2020.

He is a member of the American Bar Association (Law Practice Division, Section of Litigation, Section of Family Law, Section of Dispute Resolution (Arbitration and Collaborative Law Committees), Senior Lawyers Division, and Solo, Small Firm, and General Practice Division) and the Birmingham Bar Association (Dispute Resolution Committee, Collaborative Law Committee, Co-Chair, Family Law Committee).

Steven’s educational background includes: The University of Alabama School of Law (J.D. 1991); The University of Alabama Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (M.F.A. 1982); The University of Alabama School of Arts & Sciences (B.A. 1975 ). Concerning his language skills, Steven is an English native speaker and has also basic fluency in French.
