Dr. Subhash C Gupta, Ph D in Law and Ph D in Management, is a recipient of WORLD 2000 MILLENIUM AWARD conferred by World Institution Building Program – an affiliate of UN, ECOSOC, UNDP, UNCED, and UNICEF.
Dr. Gupta is an attorney, arbitrator focused on art law, copyright, and commercial law. He was founder Pro-Vice Chancellor & Dean School of Law of K R Mangalam University; Founder Dean, School of Law, G D Goenka University and Director of the University Campus of Legal & Professional Studies, Maharshi Dayanand University.
His publications include Encyclopedia of Intellectual Property Rights, 2008; Handbook of Global Legal Policy, Marcel Dekker Inc., New York, 1999; India Disaster Report, 1997, OXFAM India Trust; Capital Punishment, 2000; Capital Punishment in India, 1985; United Nations Organization, 1996. He also wrote a regular column “From the Court Room” in Indian Management, book chapters on the Mandate of an Arbitrator. Dr Gupta is a frequent speaker and has published extensively on issues related to art law and business.
Dr Gupta’s law practice has included arbitration since 1996. He has served as Arbitrator in a wide range of commercial disputes at both the domestic and international level. He has authored more than 50 arbitration awards, and has conducted several trainings at institutions of national and international importance.
Dr Gupta is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, member of International Council of Jurists, London; Member Governing Council, International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR); Chairman Research Committee, ICADR; Delhi Bar Association; Fellow of Indian Council of Arbitration; IPR Council of ASSOCHAM; International Economic Development Research Centre; Indian National Bar Association; Indian Arbitration Forum.
Dr Gupta is an accredited Panel Arbitrator at several High Courts in India which include Delhi High Court; Punjab & Haryana High Court; Kerala High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court; Madras High Court; and Orissa High Court. He is also an arbitrator on the panel of London Court of International Arbitration, London, UK; Asian International Arbitration Centre, Malaysia; Maldives International Arbitration Centre, Maldives; Abu Dhabi Global Markets Board, ABMG Arbitration Centre, Abu Dhabi; Sharm El Sheikh International Arbitration Centre, Cairo, Egypt; Centro de Arbitrage de México, México; Newton Arbitration, London; Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association, Chicago, USA. Dr. Gupta is also on the Panel of Advocates of large number of government bodies.
