Taras is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator focused on art law, copyright, entertainment and commercial law. During his career he was a panelist for over 50 WIPO ADR cases. Taras is also a frequent speaker and has published extensively on issues related to art law and business.
Taras continuously advises his clients on a wide range of copyright matters both locally and internationally since 2000. Taras’ law practice has included arbitration and mediation since 2005. He has served as Arbitrator and Mediator in a wide range of art law and commercial disputes at both the domestic and international level. He is a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association, National Bar Association of Ukraine, WIPO ADR Panel, and Russian Arbitration Center at Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration Panel of Arbitrators. He has participated as faculty and judge at law school- and Bar Association- sponsored moot court events, and has conducted training at the Legal High School program. He was appointed to the original Arbitration pool of CAfA in January 2020.
He is Past Co- Chair at the American Chamber of Commerce IP Committee, and Deputy Chair at the Ukrainian Bar Association IP Committee. Taras is constantly awarded as a top IP lawyer by Chambers, Legal 500, Managing Intellectual Property rankings. He is a member of the Board of the IP Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association.
Taras’ educational background includes: Kyiv National University by Taras Shevchenko (LL.M), 2000, WIPO Academy (General Course on Intellectual Property), 2005, ICC Arbitration (Advanced Training), 2005. He is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
