Vandana is an attorney, and arbitrator focused on art law, copyright, entertainment, licensing, blockchain, technology and commercial law. She is developing an art-tech platform, Artcryption, that helps protects intellectual property art and digital assets on the blockchain preventing copyright infringement, helping with authentication and tracking provenance.
Vandana is a frequent speaker on art legal issues and on art, business and IP issues for various conferences and organizations including, Toronto Arts Foundation Neighbourhood Arts, ICON Illustration Conference, Mural Routes and Benchmark Women in Litigation, 2019.
Vandana’s law practice includes arbitration. She was appointed to the original Arbitration and Mediation pools of CAfA in June 2020. Her art agency represents various high-profile artists. She has also curated and executed art installations and successfully licensed artist collaborations with major brands including the Canadian Royal Mint, United Nations, Samsung etc.
She is was past Vice-Chair of Artists Legal Advice Services and an instructor on Intellectual Property law in the Continuing Studies Program at OCAD University, teaching copyright and intellectual property and licensing to artists. Vandana is also the past Chair of the Canadian Art Gala, Committee Member of the Toronto Art Fair Committee, Board Member for Mural Routes and previously Corporate Secretary of the Art Gallery of Mississauga.
