Victor is an arbitrator focused on sports & entertainment, investment and commercial law. He is a lawyer admitted in Spain and a solicitor admitted in England and Wales. He also holds a Swiss law degree. After working in the arbitration departments of Garrigues, Skadden Arps and Allen & Overy in Madrid, London and New York, he founded VBArbitration, his own private practice where he focus on his activity as arbitrator. Victor is a frequent lecturer and speaker and has published extensively on issues related to arbitration and settlement of international disputes. Forthcoming publications includes a chapter on the language in arbitration in an arbitration book he is coordinating.
Victor’s law practice has included international arbitration since 2005. He has served as Arbitrator, Arbitral Secretary and Counsel in a wide range of investment, sports and commercial disputes at both the domestic and international level. He has served in both ad hoc and institutional arbitration cases administered by institutions such the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the London Court of International Arbitration, the Swiss Chambers Arbitration Institution, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Madrid Court of Arbitration or the Spanish Court of International Arbitration, among others.
He is a member of the ICC Spanish Committee, Spanish Club of Arbitration, Swiss Arbitration Association, ICC Institute of World Business Law and LCIA User’s Council. He is listed as arbitrator in the panel of the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, the Vienna International Arbitration Center, the Asian International Arbitration Center, the Cairo Regional Center of International Commercial Arbitration, the Lima Court of Arbitration, among other. He was appointed to the Arbitration pool of CAfA in January 2020.
He is past Co-Chair of ICC Young Arbitrators Forum, past Co- Chair of Spanish Club of Arbitration -40, past member of the Global Advisory Board of ICDR Y&I. He is a member of the Delos Arbitration Consultative Committee and regional representative of HK-45 for Spain.
Victor’s educational background includes: Spanish Law Degree and Master in International Law, both from ESADE University; Swiss Law Degree and an LLM in Business Law, both from Geneva University. Victor speaks English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Catalan.
