Gary is an attorney, mediator, arbitrator and special master focused on art, commercial contract, insurance/re-insurance, sports & entertainment, real property, employment, and intellectual property matters.
He is a Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (USA), Co-Chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) Mediation Committee, Chair of the Florida Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), immediate past President of the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, and a founding partner of Global Mediation Alliance (Singapore). Gary has published extensively on international dispute resolution and is a frequent panelist and guest lecturer, including engagements at the iLaw conference, Miami Art Week, the Private Business Mediation Study Group of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee – GEMEP/CBAr, ABA Mediation Institute, and numerous IBA events, including several editions of both its Annual Meetings and Arbitration Day, as well as a keynote speaker at Legal 500 Corporate Counsel Awards Brazil.
Gary is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit and Appellate mediator admitted to the Bar in four U.S. states, including New York and the District of Columbia, and a Fellow of CIArb. He specializes in the resolution of a diverse array of commercial matters, both domestic and international, including insurance claims and other disputes involving art. He is a panel member/approved arbitrator and/or mediator of the Center of Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), and the Vienna International Arbitration Center (VIAC), among others.
He has participated as Judge for the ICC International Mediation Competition, CDRC Vienna, and the CAMARB Mediation Competition. Gary also has conducted training at the 2017, 2018, and 2019 CDRC Vienna Multicultural Mediation programs, as well as CCFB Seminars in Mediation Advocacy, Mediation for Executives, and Advanced Mediation. He was appointed to the Arbitration and Mediation pools of CAfA in January 2020.
Gary’s educational background includes: INSEAD (M.B.A.) 1986; Boston University School of Law (J.D.) 1985; University of Pennsylvania (B.A) 1981. He works in the English, French, and Portuguese languages and is competent in Italian and Spanish.
